HISTORIC CENTRE OF LIMA

- CERCADO DE LIMA -

It is located in the district of Metropolitan Lima, Region Lima. Founded in 1535 by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, is known as the “City of Kings” for being the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru since the mid-XVI century until 1821. The Historic Center of Lima retains illustrious examples of monumental architecture in spain. This district is home to many historical buildings, squares and monuments, such as the Plaza mayor, the Cathedral of Lima, the Government Palace and the House of Peruvian Literature, is the ideal place to immerse yourself in the colonial history of the city.

HUACA PUCLLANA

- MIRAFLORES -

Huaca Pucllana is an archaeological site in the Lima culture (200-700 d.C.). Abandoned and used as a dunghill, and to motocross, has been restored since 1981 by a team led by Isabel Flores Espinoza, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Miraflores. The complex includes a pyramid of 25 meters, yards, squares and venues. Features a exhibition hall and a series of visits. Located in Miraflores, this structure pre-inca offers a fascinating vision of the Lima culture, with step pyramids and a museum that exhibits artifacts from the site.

LARCO MUSEUM

The Larco Museum was founded in 1926 by Rafael Larco Hoyle, a pioneer of peruvian archaeology. Located in a viceregal mansion of the EIGHTEENTH century and surrounded by beautiful gardens, the Larco Museum is a space that encourages and inspires you, and where you can enjoy and understand the fascinating history of ancient Peru.

Located in the district of Pueblo Libre, the Larco Museum houses an impressive collection of pre-columbian art from approximately 45,000 pieces, including ceramics, textiles, jewelry, and sculptures.

CONVENT OF SAN FRANCISCO

The Convent of San Francisco of Jesus The Large Lima, launched in 1546, and was opened in 1672, is the headquarters of the Franciscan Province of the XII Apostles of Peru, which governed all the Colonies. Declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation, from 1968, which houses a museum with one of the collections that are more representative of the colonial art in peru. Located in the center of Lima, is famous for its catacombs that contain the remains of thousands of people, an impressive library and a magnificent church with beautiful works of art.

Circuito de Playas y Atardeceres en la Costa Verde

«Camina desde Hospedaje Magdalen House hacia el Malecón de la Costa Verde. Un paseo escénico ideal para correr, andar en bicicleta o fotografiar el atardecer.»

El acantilado de la Costa Verde es una de las postales más emblemáticas de Lima. En la bajada de Magdalena del Mar se encuentran los Parques del Malecón, amplios miradores rodeados de jardines floridos.

Durante las tardes de verano y primavera, el sol se oculta directamente sobre el Océano Pacífico, brindando un espectáculo de luces doradas y púrpuras inolvidable.

Desde el malecón puedes descender hacia las playas para observar a los surfistas locales o conectarte con la ciclovía que recorre toda la costa hasta San Isidro, Miraflores y Barranco.

Siguiendo la ruta hacia el Centro Histórico de Lima (a 20 min en taxi o autobús), podrás recorrer la Plaza Mayor, la Catedral de Lima, el Palacio de Gobierno y la Basílica y Convento de San Francisco con sus famosas catacumbas subterráneas.

En el propio distrito de Magdalena del Mar destaca el Templo del Inmaculado Corazón de María, cuya cúpula alcanza casi 70 metros de altura y domina el horizonte de la avenida Brasil desde 1957.

Todos estos sitios permiten al viajero comprender el rico mestizaje arquitectónico que abarca desde la era preincaica hasta el esplendor virreinal y republicano.
